The only golf drill you will ever need to improve your takeaway in your golf swing. The correct golf takeaway will help you achieve a backswing that gives you the best opportunity to square up the club face at impact.

In this weeks golf lesson you will learn in my opinion the only golf drill you will ever need to make that first move perfect.

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website ( I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Liquid bend says:

Nice video … you make more sense then the person I took lessons from

roger peet says:

Thank you soo much. Up until now, I was gripping the wrong end of the club. Everything seems to make sense now.

Ste Gaaa says:

This video helped me realize so many things, I had problems initiating the backswing and letting my arms swing freely. After doing a proper takeway as specified in his video those problems have simply vanished. This video really opened my eyes as to how wrong my takeaway had been before. Thank you very much.

Great little video

lovetogolf says:

Amazing! Great lesson as alway's!!!

MartialGolf says:

Really great videos you’re posting. Do you happen to have a video that shows how to go from this backswing to incorporate with your video on the release where you discuss keeping the wrists loose?

Melonagraphy says:

Well done, thanks!

Jeff Symmonds says:

Hi Danny…this is a great video. Does anything at all change with a Driver/3-wood? Do you ever come to the US to teach?

shaun Fiester says:

Fantastic lesson. Love the lever action with the left hand only to keep from hinging the wrists at take away and also the tee in the grip reference.Appreciate a few summaries and different angles to really grasp your lesson. Great drills for the range. Thank you

Michael Yoo says:

Are you supposed to actually "lift" your arms as the club hinges? When you say work the club up in position, is it just hinging the wrist and continuing to turn or do you actually raise your arms up as you turn?

JapaneseReds says:

How on earth can anyone downvote this video?

Jason Tait says:

If you look closely at your video, when you take the club away it's does not look like your practice attention to the club head it opens up as you take it back. The good news is your take away looks like most tour pro's
