ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This again is very timely. Would like a continuation of this though of the follow through with the thumbs example as I tend to pull around with a chicken left elbow. I s'pose though getting the correct thumbs drill working in the downswing will correct that happening. Thank you again.

Brendan Keane says:

Hello Danny , is this the same for Driver, with the different set up to start

Tony Rock says:

I’ll try this on Wednesday Danny. Thanks

valderja says:

Nice tip and very straight forward too.

Youngsun Kim says:

Thumbs up! fantastic as usual Danny, btw at top position should i let the shaft rest on left thumb? maybe it is basic question though.

john smith says:

Thanks Danny. Once you have got past the second backswing position shown in this video, should the back plane increase in steepness to get to the very top of the swing – from side on should the backswing be slightly concave as steepness increases, or should it be a constant linear plane in line with the ball throughout? Thanks for any suggestions on that.

Andrew Lewis says:

Hi Danny, greetings from Sueno Golf Turkey. Brilliant simple lesson. Used it today on our golf holiday and won the money! Many thanks.

To the Quik: What is the [Motivation & Purpose] of a Player (a Golfer)…i.e. like me!… "To Trust your Swing"!
No matter what the circumstances. No matter what the conditions. No matter what the lie of the ball. No matter what the pressure!
"Trust your Swing" & the [Enjoyment of Golf & Success] is yours! To the Point:
[Let it Go] & [Trust your Swing]. Great Teacher, Danny. Jamieson (Peter).

majl1000 says:

Worked for me, took it to the course today, shot 89, no fats, few tops then settled in to taking divots after the ball for first time ever, the strikes were great, was swinging easy as trying it out, ball flight was strong and pinging of club with alot less effort than I normally use . Hit each club same distance on entire round, and about 5 yards gain on each. Great drill, can I stay swinging the way this drill promotes

lobedwonder says:

…when he demostrates the swing in slow motion his head is centered at impact…when he actually does a swing his chin and head move dramatically forward first before the swing…i wonder why golf gurus never mention this or seem blissfully unaware of it as essential….

randell danner says:

Good simple concept. Thanks. That will help me fight the flats. One thing I try to do is take the club head back on a straight line as far as possible without pulling out of position before taking it up. Less tendency to swing flat or around the body. Also not let my hands go below shoulder level at the top. The thumbs up idea should help alot with that.

Cold Dessert says:

Great video Danny. I watched this last night, and again when I got home from work. This is working for me in my yard with wiffle balls, and into the net . Can’t wait to try it on the course.

Jerry Chick says:

Thanks for this video. I think it will really help. When are you going to post your YouTube Golf Day video?

hedwegg says:

A Brae Comment, Danny: The Funniest Video on Golf ever made, on the Internet, is "mike austin teaching the teachers". Circa: 2013! (2 Hrs.)
i.e. One of the Teachers (a female) hits Mike with an iron on top of the head during a practice swing. Mike wobbles across the driving area!
To Note: "Mike teaches by Mistakes"! He's Kinesiology. He's the most comical teacher I've ever run across & most disconcerting for teachers!
i.e "Golf, The Comedy of Errors"!…To the Point:…I'll stick with your good news, my friend. (Never distraction).
PS: Mike is 99 years old this year! Circa: 2019! Great Lesson, Danny Maude.

Terry Holloway says:

Great tip Danny thanks for all you do

Eric Fraser says:

You can extend the drill at the top of the backswing by having your right thumb under the shaft at parallel. And, of course, your left under at finish parallel. Assume a right swinger.

Christopher Newcomb says:

I love this guy! So simple and great teacher

Christopher Newcomb says:

Danny, I did this simple drill and was hitting the best I’ve hit in my life!!!!!! Seriously!!! 5 iron 200 easy!!!

Bob Sanders says:

Danny you present golf skills better than most I've watched on YouTube. Good job buddy.

quiz pro says:

Your tips are very informative. My problem is I have a great tension-free practice swing, but when the ball is introduced it all goes to pot!!

Sokko Sokkosan says:

Great description! Thanks, I’m practicing the thumbs up in my hotel room!

rono8275 says:

Focus on the motion. Focus on making a golf swing and let the ball get in the way of the club. golfmadeeasy

rono8275 says:

Very old but effective drill. Keeps the club on plane on backswing and downswing.

rono8275 says:

When the shaft is parallel to the ground, it should also be parallel to your target line with the toe of the club pointing up and the face of the club away from you. On the downswing, past impact, when the shaft is parallel to your target line, the toe of the club is again up with the back of the club facing away from you. Taught in the 1940-s.
